This year over one billion Muslims around the world will be fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. Fasting is a practice which has been prescribed in many religions throughout the world primarily because of the link it has with one's spiritual faculties. There are numerous benefits of fasting, which range from physical benefits, to mental health benefits, and fundamentally spiritual benefits.
Fasting is not easy. It takes perseverance, steadfastness, focus, and conviction to get through a full day of no food or water, and also no lying, swearing, or indulging in vain acts (some say the food is the easy part).

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at has put together the "RAMADAN CHALLENGE" campaign and we are encouraging all Canadians to Take the Ramadan Challenge!
We are asking Canadians to join us for ONE day of fasting. That means one full day of no food, water, lying, swearing, fighting, etc., and just a day focused on pondering over all the gifts you've been given throughout life, caring for the less fortunate, and remembering God every time your stomach growls!
